宁波在1986年被列为国家历史文化名城，是中华文明的重要发源地和书藏古今的书香之城。古往今来的治水壮举、建筑奇迹，对内的文化沉淀、对外的文化交流，处处体现着文化厚度和世界影响力。

In 1986, Ningbo was honored with the prestigious title of being a national-level historical and cultural city in China. With its rich history and deep cultural roots, Ningbo stands as a cradle of Chinese civilization. The city boasts a legacy of literary traditions, architectural marvels, and remarkable accomplishments in water management, all of which contribute to its cultural depth and significant global influence.

天一阁——中国现存最早的图书馆，亚洲现存最早的私家藏书楼。国家5A级旅游景区，至今已有460多年历史，以藏书文化为特色，融社会历史、艺术于一体，是中国重点文物保护单位。博物馆内环境幽雅、园林精美、建筑古朴，富有浓郁的地方特色，除了藏书丰富，其建筑结构在防火、通风、防潮方面也独具特色。

Tianyige Library: The oldest extant library in China as well as the most ancient private library across Asia. With a history of over 460 years, this national 5A-level tourist attraction blends social history and art, featuring its enormous collection of rare ancient books and documents. It has been on the list of cultural heritage sites under state protection. Tianyige Library Museum – rich in local characters – offers an elegant environment, with its exquisite gardens and quaint architecture. In addition to the extensive collection of books, its architectural structure is uniquely designed for fire prevention, ventilation, and moisture control.

宁波舟山港——位于中国大陆海岸线中部、“长江经济带”南翼，是一座世界级深水良港。2025年完成货物吞吐量突破14亿吨，连续17年位居全球第一；集装箱吞吐量超4300万标准箱，稳居全球第三。港口已开通集装箱航线超300条，连接全球200多个国家和地区的700多个港口。海铁联运业务辐射16个省份的67个地级市，全年业务量突破200万标准箱。在共建“一带一路”、长江经济带发展等国家战略中发挥着“硬核”力量，正加速迈向世界一流强港。

Ningbo Zhoushan Port: a world-class deep-water port located in the middle section of China’s coastline and the southern wing of the Yangtze River Economic Belt. In 2025, the port’s cargo throughput exceeded 1.4 billion tonnes, ranking first in the world for the 17th consecutive year. Its container throughput reached over 43 million TEUs, firmly maintaining third place worldwide. The port operates more than 300 container routes, connecting over 700 ports in more than 200 countries and regions. Its rail-sea intermodal transport network covers 67 prefecture-level cities across 16 provinces, with an annual throughput of over 2 million TEUs. Playing a pivotal role in major national strategies such as the Belt and Road Initiative and the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, Ningbo Zhoushan Port is accelerating its transformation into a world-leading port.

河姆渡遗址——长江流域是中华文明发源地的重要见证。河姆渡遗址1973年首次发现，1982年被列为全国重点文物保护单位，2021年入选中国“百年百大考古发现”。河姆渡遗址附近的井头山遗址，是长三角地区首个贝丘遗址，是迄今为止中国沿海发现的埋藏最深、年代最早的典型海岸贝丘遗址，把宁波的人文历史源头又向前推进了1000多年。

Hemudu Cultural Site:Consolidating Yangtze River Basin as an important birth- place of Chinese civilization.Unearthed in 1973, it was listed as an important heritage site under state protection in 1982, and selected as one of China's "100 Centurial Archaeological Discoveries " in 2021. The Jingtoushan site near the Hemudu site is the first shell mound in the Yangtze River Delta region and the deepest buried and oldest coastal shell mound site that China has found so far. Thecultural and historical roots of Ningbo have been extended over a thousand years further.

它山堰——中国古代四大水利工程之一。全国重点文物保护单位，中国水利史上首次出现的块石砌筑的重力型拦河滚水坝，2015年入选世界灌溉工程遗产名单，与郑国渠、灵渠、都江堰合称为中国古代四大水利工程。

Tuoshan Weir: One of China's Four Great Ancient Water Conservancy Projects. As a nationally protected cultural relic, this gravity overflow dam constructed with block stones holds the distinction of being the first of its kind in the history of Chinese water conservancy. In 2015, it was included in the World Heritage Irrigation Structure list, alongside Zhengguo Canal, Lingqu Canal, and Dujiangyan Irrigation System. Together, these remarkable structures form the cornerstone of ancient Chinese water conservancy achievements.

慈城古县城——江南地区保存最完整的千年古县城。国家4A级旅游景区、国家历史文化名镇、中国慈孝文化之乡，中国民族优秀建筑文化遗产名镇和旅游目的地。“慈城古建筑群”被列为全国重点文物保护单位。游客在城内可以体验特色民宿、江南小吃、非遗民俗等。

Cicheng Ancient County: The most well-preserved millennial county in the Jiangnan region. This well-known historical and cultural town is listed as a national 4A-level tourist attraction. Renowned for its filial piety culture, this attraction with fascinating architectural relics is an ideal tourist destination. The "Cicheng Ancient Architectural Complex" is under state- level protection. Tourists will be satisfied with distinctive lodgings, local snacks and intangible cultural heritage among others.
